Humble Yourself

To humble yourself goes against your sinful nature. That includes all of us. We want it our way, and when it's not, we can let everyone know it. We become aggressive or passive aggressive. Humility is viewed as weakness and failure.

Only the Spirit of God can work humility in your life. It is sure evidence that God is at work in your heart. Humility is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. God's love bears the fruit of humility in you. It is a work of God's grace through you in Christ.

As you humble yourself before God, he exalts you to the praise of His glorious love. Be glad. You have found favor with God. He has done in you what you could never do for yourself. The focus of your life has changed from self-centered to God-centered.

"He who humbles himself will be exalted."
Luke 18:14, NKJV

 "So humble yourselves
under the mighty power of God,
and in his good time,
he will honor you."
1 Peter 5:6, NLT
