What Is Trusting God?

Trusting God is taking Him at His word. The Bible gives you the written promises of God for every believer. Trust the promises of God. He is the Promise-Keeper. His word of promise is a sure foundation, that you may trust Him through all of life's experiences. In God you trust with absolute confidence.

Trusting God is a personal relationship. All relationships are built upon trust. God wants you to trust Him. To trust anyone is to believe a person's word. God's word is His bond of trust with you. You are bonded to God by His word. In the Bible that's called a covenant relationship.

Trusting God is a choice of your will. No one can force you to trust God. You make a personal choice. God enables you to trust Him by His grace through His word and Spirit. The same Holy Spirit who inspired His word of truth in the Bible is the same Holy Spirit who works in your heart to trust God.

Trusting God is entering a relationship of confidence in Him. His promises are not empty words. His power to work in your life is neither myth nor fantasy. The reality of His presence and power over the circumstances in your life are confirmed through His providential actions.

"He is my refuge and my fortress;
my God, in Him I will trust."
Psalm 91:2

"Trust in The LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding.
 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6
