Getting Along with Others

Getting along with others is so important in your life. Your life is about relationships in marriage and family, in business and in church. Having friends depends on getting along with others. Have you mastered the art of getting along with others?

The Bible shares wisdom about getting along with others. "Live in harmony with each other. Don't try to act important, but enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all" (Romans 12:16, NLT). These words of wisdom reveal the secret of getting along with others. Following the plain teaching in this one verse provides practical steps.

Actually, getting along with others is summarized in one word - humility. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit working in our lives as believers in Jesus Christ (Galatians 5:22-23). Humility lives in harmony with others, because it never tries to act more important than others. Humility never tries to be a "know it all."

How many marriages end in divorce because two people simply cannot get along? How many families are in conflict because relatives choose not to get along? Even churches split from time to time, because members refuse to live in harmony. Getting along with others is important.
