Don't Be Deceived

Deception can have strong appeal, but the results are always disastrous. Deception often makes great promises, stirring excitement. No one wants to be deceived, but many may fall for the lies of deception. The results are disappointment, embarrassment, depression, and bitterness.

Deception can be exposed. The light of truth easily exposes the darkness of deception. The Spirit of Truth will always warn believers about the dangers of deception. The Holy Spirit gives each believer genuine discernment. The Spirit of God will never give peace in the face of deception. Faith bears witness with the truth. Doubt warns of deception. "However, when He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth" (John 16:13).

The Word of Truth is found in the Bible. It provides a bright light to show you the right path every time. Walking in the Word is walking in the truth. Truth speaks words of knowledge and wisdom. The wisdom of truth always comes with peace. They are yoked together as two confident witnesses in one. The Word of Truth delights in exposing the errors of deception. Jesus prays to the Father for believers, "Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth" (John 17:17).

There is someone who can make you free from all deception. The Truth breaks the chains of deception. When someone is confused with deception, the Truth can always set him free. The Truth will lead as a sure guide into the right path. The Truth has a name. His name is Jesus. He leads all who follow with love, joy, and peace. Jesus said, "I am . . . the truth" (John 14:6).
