You Are Important

You are important. It's not because of how much you have in your bank account. It's not because of how much influence or popularity you have with others. It's not even how smart you are, or what you have accomplished in life. To the contrary of all the things you may think makes a person important, you are important because God made you. "It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves" (Psalm 100:3).

You are important for another reason. God loves you. The love of other people, such as family and friends, is certainly important to you. However, their love is no comparison to God's love. Understand that love made you, because "God is love" (1 John 4:8).

Love made you to be loved and to love others. Love makes you important, because God loves you. His love for you is steadfast and true. His love for you changes not. His love for you is proven at the cross of Jesus. "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

Don't try to be important. You may do or say something that will make you feel important, but it won't last. Don't focus on all the things that will let you think you are important. Time will prove them all wrong. You are important for one, and only one reason. You are important because of God. He made you. He loves you.
