Your Purpose in Life

Your life has a purpose. God made you for a purpose. Those who refuse to believe God and His purpose for them eventually conclude that life is meaningless. They are resigned to think that life is about nothing. What a drastic choice we have. It's about purpose or nothing.

You may believe that God has a purpose for you, but you have no idea what it may be. Sometime God uses simple object lessons to teach us the truth. So, go to your kitchen. Open the cabinet and find a cup. Notice several things about that cup. Someone had to make it. You know it was made for a purpose.

Your life is like that cup. You were made by the hand of God to be used in His hand. He places you where you can serve Him. He moves you according to His purpose. As a believer in Jesus Christ, you are "a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work" (2 Timothy 2:21).

As the cup was made to be filled, so you were made to be filled with God's love, joy, and peace. God's Spirit will fill your life, that you can bear good fruit to serve God by serving others. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace" (Galatians 5:22). The cup is yielded and still, waiting to be filled. Yield to God's Spirit to be filled. That's your purpose in life.
