"Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:8
The wind said to the sun, "I am stronger than you and I can prove it. See that man down there, I will make him take his coat off." So, the wind blew and the man pulled his coat closer. The wind blew harder, but the man held his coat tightly. The sun said, "Now, let me show you what I can do." The sun just slowly and quietly increased the temperature one degree at the time. Finally, the man willingly took his coat off. The sun proved to the wind that there is a better way to motivate people. Love works like the sun, slowly and gently it changes people. Love never fails. Overcome failure with love.
Love never fails because God is love. The greatest gift God offers to all people everywhere is His love (1 Cor. 13:13). Someone may ask, "But, how could God ever love me? I have done so many things that are wrong." Don't forget, God loves sinners, and that includes all of us (Romans 3:23; 5:8). Only the Spirit of God can pour the Father's love into our hearts (Romans 5:5).
Do you ever have doubts that God really loves you? The love of God is received by faith. "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love" (Ephesians 3:17). Faith and love work together. Our doubts may rob us of the assurance of God's love. Give your doubts to God through prayer. Receive God's love by faith.
Prayer: Father, we have failed in many ways, but Your love never fails. Fill our lives with Your love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
