Faith Sees the Invisible

"By faith he (Moses) forsook Egypt,
not fearing the wrath of the king;
for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible."

Hebrews 11:27

Our natural eyes can only see in this world of nature. The eyes of faith see into the invisible world all around us. The eyes of faith see God at work. Moses saw by faith that the invisible God was with him.

A man and his son were watching television, when all of a sudden his son asked, "Dad, why can't we see God?" His dad was surprised at the question and didn't know what to say. Then, he looked back at the television and had his answer. He said, "Son, you see that man on television. We can see him, but he can't see us. He believes people like us are watching. If he didn't, he would be wasting his time. That's the way it is with God. He sees us, but we must believe that He is watching, even though we can't see him."

God is Spirit (John 4:24). The word Spirit comes from a Greek word which may be translated air. That is to say, God is like the air all around us. Even though we can't see the air, we would be dead without it. We know the air is there without seeing it. So it is with faith, we know that God is there, even though we can't see Him.

The eyes of faith sees God working in our lives. We go nowhere that He is absent. He is ever present to watch over us and hear our prayers. For those who love Him, He is working in every situation to bring good even through our trials, troubles and heartaches. Moses was bold to do God's will, not fearing anyone, because he saw the One who is invisible. Faith endures seeing the invisible.

Father, give us faith to see the invisible, in Jesus name.
