"Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?"
Psalm 139:7
The boy's uncle was not a believer in God. He said to the boy, "I'll give you a dollar if you can tell me where God is." The boy responded, "I'll give you five dollars if you can tell me where He ain't." The boy had it right. God is omnipresent. He is everywhere. There is nowhere God "ain't."
The psalmist understood that he could go nowhere God is not present. His presence fills all places without exception. That means we can call on God anywhere. Psalm 139 is traditionally attributed to the psalmist David. He called upon God many times at different places. God had forgiven his sins, protected his life, provided for his needs, and led him as the king of God's people. He knew that God was with him everywhere. Psalm 23 is his best known psalm. He penned these words about God's presence in his life: "For You are with me" (Psalm 23:4).
Are you aware of God's presence in your life all the time and everywhere? When we understand with the psalmist that God is present everywhere, then we know that He is with us all the time. God wants us to know that He is with us.
For believers God is with us like a shepherd. He leads us in the right path. He provides for us, and He delivers us from the fear of all evil. It's all described clearly in Psalm 23. The believer knows that God is with him here and now.

God, thank You for being with us now and always.
