Colossians 3:11
They were on their way home from a Sunday church service. Their daughter said, "The pastor was saying that Christ wants to live in us. I don't understand how He can." Her mother said, "When we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He comes into our lives through the Holy Spirit." The daughter asked, "But how can we really know that He lives in us?" Her mother responded, "The way we know is by faith. Our faith in Christ is the Spirit's work within us.''
The mother gave a good answer according to the Bible. The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian through three abiding gifts - faith, hope, and love (1 Corinthians 13:13). Faith is our assurance that God is at work within us. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).
Faith, hope, and love work together. "Love . . . believes all things, hopes all things" (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). The Spirit of Christ within all sustains faith, hope, and love. Faith unites us with Christ. Hope assures us of our future in Christ. Love motivates us to live for Christ.

Have you ever doubted that Christ really lives in you? You can answer that question for yourself and know for sure by asking three questions: (1) Do I have faith in Christ? (2) Is my hope for the future in Christ? (3) Have I experienced the love of Christ? The focus is all about Jesus, that "Christ is all in all."
Lord Jesus, live through me to the Father's glory.
