God's love will never be forced upon you. His love pursues you and invites you to respond, but there is no coercion on his part. Love must always be received. It can be refused. Let God love you.
Have you received the love of God? It's one thing to hear the songs and sermons about God's love, yet another thing to actually receive his love. You could be a very religious person without knowing his love in a personal way.
You may ask, "How can I really let God love me?" God's love comes to you through his Son. Jesus came into this world to reveal God's love for all mankind. Look at Christ crucified. He proved God's love for you, when he died on the cross to take away all of your sins. With outstretched arms and crucified hands, he loves you that much.
Only the Holy Spirit can make God's love in Christ real to you. His love changes our hearts to trust him and love him. His love works through us to love others. It all begins when you let God love you. "For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love" (Romans 5:5 NLT). Let God love you today. Trust his love for you everyday. Ask God to fill you with love in the name of Jesus Christ.
