The New You

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could change some old things from your past? Someone may say, "What is done is done. You can't change it." That statement is correct in part. You can't change it, but there is someone who can. God can change you from the old to the new.

Conversion introduces the new you, becoming a new person in Christ. You have a new identity with a new life. Old things pass away. God forgives all your old sins and you start a new life. That's the new you. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

God is able to take the bad things that happened in your past to bring good out of them. God has the unique ability to bring good out of any circumstance. He has a purpose for the new you, and that purpose is always good. "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).

Say good-bye to your old life. It's time to live the new you. Don't be a prisoner to the old things in your past. Trust God to bless and use the new you. Remember, the old things have passed away. Trust God to do good things in your life in the days ahead. That's the new you, by God's grace.
