God gave His Son for us. That's not a selfish thought. Far from it, that's God's thought. Jesus was born for us. Not only was He born for us, but for the whole world. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son . . ."(John 3:16). Receive God's Son given for us.
God gave His Son for us, but He must be received. God's Son is received by faith. Believing is receiving. Those who receive not, reject the very Son of God. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name"(John 1:12).
God gives us "eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord"(Romans 6:23). Eternal life comes from the eternal God through Christ. It is life full of love and joy. Eternal life is victory over death through the resurrection of Christ. Eternal life is about God's eternal love for us. It is "the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord"(Romans 8:39).
Believe and receive God's Son. "But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons"(Galatians 4:4-5). By faith in Jesus Christ, we receive adoption into God's family. Be glad now and forever that God gave His Son for us.
