Change Your Life

"But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying
and singing hymns to God."

Acts 16:25

A woman came to her pastor to confess a personal problem. She said, "I must admit that I'm not getting anything out of our worship services. I have so many problems that it's hard to focus on the hymns, prayers and your messages. I don't know what to do." Her pastor said, "God wants to help you. When we worship Him, we put our problems aside long enough to focus upon the Lord. That's the way we open our lives to God for Him to help us." She came back a few weeks later, saying, "I did what you said. I can't say that all my problems have been resolved, but I have a peace now that will help me get through my problems. I know God will help me."

Paul and Silas were put in jail because of their faith in Christ. At their trying hour, they worshiped God in prison. The results that we read in Acts 16 were amazing. Worship opened the door of heaven, even in prison. No circumstance is too hard for God. In our deepest valley and darkest night of the soul, let us resolve to turn to God in worship. Don't misunderstand, worship is not a magic formula to solve our problems. However, it is the way to surrender our lives to God's will, goodness and mercy.

Have you got a problem that seems impossible? Maybe you have tried many different ways to resolve it and nothing has worked. It's time to worship the Lord. Surrender your life and situation to Him. Focus upon His love, glory and grace. Yield your heart to His good will. Give it up to the Lord. When we truly worship, our circumstances may or may not change, but one thing is for sure, God will change our hearts. Resolve to worship Him in good times and bad. Worship changes our lives.

Prayer: We worship You, O Lord, for You are a great God and greatly to be praised. We surrender our lives to You. We seek Your will to be done in our lives through Jesus Christ. Amen.
