"Grace to you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ."
Ephesians 1:2
A custodian at a Christian elementary school heard children in a class singing the blessing before they went to lunch. They were singing, "God our Father, once again, thank you for our blessings. Thank you for our blessings. Amen." He later told the teacher that he had never thought about God being his Father. The teacher took the opportunity to tell him, "When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, we enter a relationship with God as our Father." That day, the teacher led the man in a prayer to receive Christ as Lord of his life.
God desires a personal relationship with us. He wants to be our Father through faith in Christ. Through Christ, we are adopted into the family of God. This relationship is all of grace. That is to say, it is the gift of God. We could never deserve such a relationship.
Grace is the unmerited favor of God in Christ. The fruit of such a relationship is peace with God. The Holy Spirit comes into our lives by faith in Christ. He gives us peace, as we receive God as our Father.

Jesus taught us as believers to address God as Father when we pray. As children of God, we have the right to ask Him for our daily bread, to forgive our sins as we forgive others, to lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil. Jesus gave us the model prayer. We often refer to it as the Lord's Prayer. It's all about our relationship with God our Father.
God, we receive You as our Father through Christ.
