Matthew 2:2
The wise men who came from the east to worship the new born King of the Jews, asked, "Where is He?" The scribes who copied the Holy Scriptures were able to give an answer from the Old Testament. Micah 5:2 prophesied that He would be born in Bethlehem. These seekers left to find Him just as the Scripture predicted centuries before His birth. They came with their gifts and worshiped the new born King.
How can we find Christ today? We could go to Bethlehem and fail to find Christ. We could go to church and fail to find Christ. How does anyone find Christ today? The truth is that we can only find Christ when He reveals Himself to our hearts. He is revealed through the Holy Scripture by the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit who inspired the Scripture must open our eyes of understanding. He draws us to Christ. Through the Bible, the Spirit of God makes Jesus Christ real in our lives.
A certain man got home late on a Saturday night. He forgot to turn his radio alarm off. Early Saturday morning, he was awakened by the radio to the voice of a pastor who was teaching the Bible. The man began to listen closely to every word the pastor said. For the first time in his life, he understood who Jesus is and why Christ came into this world. He heard the gospel, that Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead. The pastor told his audience how Jesus Christ changes our lives. The man believed the good news of Christ. His life was changed. A few years later, he enrolled in a seminary and prepared to become a pastor.
Have you found Christ to be real in your heart and life? He can still be found today. Read the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth about Jesus to your mind and heart.
