God Knows Your Future

"This is the thing which I have spoken to Pharaoh,
God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do."

Genesis 41:28

There are television channels that replay ball games. Those who watch may know the final score. They may even know what is about to happen in the replay from reading the news or watching the game when it was actually played. The replay is for those who want to relive the highlights of a ball game. That illustrates the foresight of God. He knows all things, the end from the beginning. That does not mean that we don't have choices and responsibility. It does mean that God is omniscient. He knows all. That speaks of the greatness and glory of God.

Pharaoh had a dream that he didn't understand. Joseph was a man gifted by God to interpret dreams. He had the interpretation, and time proved his interpretation correct. God's message through the dream was that there would be prosperity for seven years, followed by seven years of famine. Pharaoh heeded the warning. He made preparation for the seven years of famine. Many lives were saved as a result. It brought glory to God and accomplished His purposes.

God knows our future. For every believer, He has a plan for our lives. We need not worry nor fret about the unknown days ahead. Known to God is every detail of our future. As we walk with Him by faith, we can live in peace, with hope secure in the greatness and goodness of God.

An old gospel song has these words: "I don't know about tomorrow. I just live from day to day, but I know who holds tomorrow, and I know who holds my hand." We don't know all that God shall do, but we can trust Him with our future.

God, I trust You with my future.
