Experience God's Glory

"Who is the King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory."

Psalm 24:10

A man said to his pastor, "You may think this strange, but when I'm alone I often sing about Jesus. While I sing about Him, I really experience His presence with me." The pastor smiled, and said, "No I don't think you are strange. The Lord is with us all the time, but when we begin to worship Him in song, we become aware of His presence with us."

Psalm 24 was sung by the people who entered the tabernacle or temple in the Old Testament days. They knew that God was present in the room known as the Holy of Holies. It was referred to as the Shekinah Glory or the Presence of the LORD. They drew near to Him as they worshiped with singing.

Today, we need not go to a certain place to find the manifest presence of God. The glory of God is revealed for all to know in the person of Jesus Christ. "We beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). The glory of God is revealed fully in Jesus Christ.

Do you experience the glory of God? There's only one reason that we don't: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Jesus died to take away all of our sins. When we trust in Him, we can experience the glory of God. The same Spirit which lives in Jesus enters our lives (Romans 8:9). He is the Spirit of Christ who is the glory of God. He is with every believer all the time (Matthew 28:20). Yet, we become more aware of Him as we sing His praises and worship the King of glory.

LORD, we worship You as the King of glory in Jesus name.
