God calls you to faith in Christ. It's God's work in you, and he completes what he begins. So many people think that it's what they do for God. However, the Bible teaches that it's what God has done for you in Christ, and what he is doing in you through the Holy Spirit.
Do you have a sure faith by the grace of God in Christ Jesus? If you only look to yourself, you could easily be filled with doubt. Assurance comes only from looking to Jesus Christ. He alone is the author and finisher of your faith. He works in your heart that you may trust him and do his will.
Your faith is by God's grace alone. So it is likewise with your assurance. Grace is God's undeserved favor in Christ Jesus. Only he can save you and keep you from falling. Praise him and thank him for what he has done in you to the praise of his glory.
"Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling,
and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory
with exceeding joy, to God our Savior."
Jude 24-25
"Being confident of this very thing,
that He who began a good work in you
will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
