None Who Understand

Two men were talking about church. Neither one of them were believers. One said, "I have never gone to church, except for a few weddings and funerals." The other one said, "I went to church as a child, and I've attended on rare occasions since then, but it seems like such a waste of time. I just don't understand why people want to go." Not far away, a Christian overheard their conversation. He later prayed for both of them. His prayer was: "Lord, open the eyes of their understanding that they may know You."

None of us understand our need for God, until the Spirit of God opens our eyes of understanding. Therefore, you don't seek God, until you have understanding. Only the Holy Spirit can give you understanding that you need God through faith in Jesus Christ. After you come to faith in Christ, God must open your eyes of understanding to grow in your faith.

Do you want to understand more about your relationship with God? If so, read your Bible. Pray that God will continue to open the eyes of your understanding to grow in your faith.

If you are praying for others who are not believers, pray that the eyes of their understanding will be opened. No one understands until God opens our eyes. We are spiritually blind until the Lord gives us eyes to see and hearts to understand.

"There is none who understands, no, not one.
There is none who seeks after God."
Romans 3:10-11

"Your understanding being enlightened,
that you may know what is the hope of His calling."
Ephesians 1:18
