So many people are turned off to life. In essence, they are just here and nothing more. Life to them has become "the same old, same old." They have no purpose nor sense of direction in their lives. Being turned off with life is a choice. They have no enthusiasm about living. They are just passing the time away.
Then, there are people who are turned on with life. They are filled with energy to do life. They know why they are here. Life has purpose and meaning. They know what they need to do, and they enjoy doing it. Boredom evades them. Depression stays away from them. Each day has opportunity. They live to fulfill their potential.
Your life is like a lamp on the table. You were made to give light to others. If you are not turned on, you lose a sense of purpose. Other people need you. A lamp is either turned on or turned off. Someone's hand must turn on the lamp. There is only one hand that can turn your life on. It's the hand of God. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).
God made you and his hand has placed you where you are. He put you there to serve others, to give light to those around you. Ask him to turn you on to his purpose for your life, to use you for his glory, to be a blessing to others. He can. He will. Turn on to life.
