Desiring God

Do you have a desire for God? Thank Him for such grace. If you know God in a personal relationship, do you desire to know Him more intimately? That also is His grace continuing to work in your heart.

The grace of God gives you that desire for Him, and God's grace alone satisfies the desire. Then you may say, "But by the grace of God, I am what I am" (1 Corinthians 15:10).

God made your body to hunger for food and thirst to drink. Those are instinctive desires put within you by your Creator. He also gives you a desire to know Him. Jesus said, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink" (John 7:37). That desire is satisfied through Jesus, who is God revealed in human form.

The desire to know God in a personal relationship comes through His grace. Our Lord satisfies that need to know His love and mercy in your life. God who gave you the desire for food satisfies it as you eat. God who gave you thirst satisfies it as you drink. God who gives you desire for him satisfies it by grace through faith.
