Your Goal in Life

Where are you going? What is your direction in life? Without a sense of direction, life can easily become aimless. Where there is no goal, there is no purpose. The worse case scenario is a wasted life. God calls us from wasted years to a life full of meaning and purpose. That's your goal in life.

Find your goal, that is your purpose for living. It is more than the daily chores and common tasks that you must fulfill. Look in just the right place for that goal. Look in your heart. What is your passion? What energizes you? What brings a sense of joy and fulfillment to your life? God puts His purpose for your life in your heart. Live out what He has put within you.

In considering your goal in life, consider your gifts and talents. God gives us talents and abilities to do His will. What He wants you to do, He equips you to do. These are things you have confidence in doing, simply because God has given you the ability. He wants you to use your gifts and talents to serve others. "God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well" (Romans 12:6, NLT).

Your goal in life should always be what you can do to the glory of God. A life direction that is set on vain glory, that is self promotion, will be a dead end. Serving others to the glory of God will bring joy and purpose. Life is a terrible waste without a sense of direction. Find God's goal for your life in Christ and service to others, so "whatever you do, you must do all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31, NLT).
