When You Worry

Worry cannot change any problem you have. Worry cannot provide a solution for anything that bothers you. Worry cannot do anything good for you. Someone has said that worry is like a rocking chair. It will give you something to do, but it won't get you anywhere.

You may say, I can't help but worry. That may be your experience, but why? What makes us worry? It's a pattern of thought that does not include God. Jesus said, "Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life" (Matthew 6:25). He went on to teach us how to overcome worry. It comes from a relationship with God as your Father.

Jesus says to you, when you worry, "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:26).

Said the robin to the sparrow, "I'd really like to know, why these human beings run around and worry so." Said the sparrow to the robin, "Surely it must be, that they have no heavenly Father like you and me." Why do you worry? You have a heavenly Father.
