Consider the friends in your life. Who can you depend upon to lift you up and encourage you? Who among your friends have supported you through the hard times of life? They are a blessing from God. "A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24).
Who are the friends that have helped you to grow spiritually in your relationship with God? Are there others who influenced you to drift away from your spiritual roots? This is an important consideration in the direction of your life. Friends make a difference in how you live.
Trusted friends who really care about you are gifts from God. They want the best for you. They are there for you when you need them. That's a true friend. You need trusted friends. Thank God for them. May God use you to befriend others. It takes a friend to be a friend. Be one for someone who needs you.
"There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Who is that for you? Jesus is that person for those who know Him by faith in their hearts. He is a friend who will never leave you nor forsake you. He is a friend you may talk to anytime and anywhere. He is a friend forever. Jesus said, "I have called you friends, for all things I have heard from my Father I have made known to you" (John 15:15). Jesus is the best friend you could ever have. Make Him your best friend forever.
