Don't be discouraged. You may think, that's easier said than done. Discouragement never comes as a welcomed guest. Discouragement comes without invitation as an intruder. The question is how do we overcome discouragement? The answer is clear. Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
Discouragement works with fear. It is the work of fear to prepare the way for discouragement. We are easily dismayed after fear gains entrance to our thoughts, then discouragement is soon to appear. Are we helpless victims without any recourse? Certainly not. Turn your thoughts toward God who always wants to encourage you.
God is with you. He is with you everywhere and all the time. Focus your thoughts upon God and the sure promises of His word. Repeat this promise: The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Hebrews 13:6). When you receive God as your helper, discouragement is immediately dismissed.
God will never leave you. Hear His promise for you: I will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). God is with you now and always. He is your constant companion. Trust His promise. Believe His word.
