You need faith for today and hope for the future. These are gifts of the Holy Spirit. God not only makes sure promises, but God gives you the faith and hope to receive those promises. Faith and hope are abiding gifts of God's Spirit in your heart. Faith and hope come with the greatest gift from the Holy Spirit, which is love. Now abide faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).
God's everlasting love makes every believer's hope sure. God loves you with an unconditional love that is steadfast and true. Herein you discover the solid foundation upon which faith and hope stand. Love is the guarantee of faith and hope that's sure. They are absolutely sure, because God is love (1 John 4:8).
Thank God for these three gifts you need. They are abiding gifts to assure you of an abiding relationship with God. You receive these abiding gifts of faith, hope, and love focused upon Christ. God's Spirit gives you these gifts to live the Christian life. Live by faith in Christ, with hope in Christ, filled with the love of Christ.
Someone may say, "I can't live the Christian life." No one can without these three gifts. When anyone calls upon the Lord, these three gifts come to you. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). Then, you are able to live a new life with faith in Christ, hope for the future, and love for others. These three gifts you need.
