But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons (Galatians 4:4-5). By faith in Jesus Christ, we are adopted into God's family. Be glad now and forever that God sent His Son for us.
God sent His Son for us. That's not a selfish thought. Far from it, that's God's thought. Jesus was sent for us. Not only was He sent for us, but for the whole world. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). That's why God sent His Son for us.
God sent His Son for us, but He must be received. God's Son is received by faith. Believing is receiving. Those who receive not, reject the Son of God. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name (John 1:12).
God sent His Son for us to have eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). Eternal life comes from the eternal God through Christ. Eternal life is the life of God given to us. Eternal life is victory over death through the resurrection of Christ. Eternal life is about God's everlasting love for us. It is the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39).
