Consider Your Words

Consider your words. They may affirm someone or upset others. Your words may bring peace or create conflict. Words are powerful. God hears your words. Words make a difference. Pray to God, Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight (Psalm 19:14). Ask yourself, are my words acceptable to God?

Your words can change the direction and destiny of your life. Words spoken by faith from your heart can receive God's salvation in Christ. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10). That's when you confess, Jesus is Lord. And no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:3).

A man said to his friend, "I just say what I think." His friend said, "Well, I hope you have a clean mind, because a lot of dirt could come out of your mouth." What you say expresses what's in your heart. If you listen long enough, a man will tell you what's in his heart.

Consider your words. They can encourage or discourage others. Your words make a difference in your life and others. Words of parents can encourage children or cause doubt and fear. A husband's words can affirm his wife or cause conflict. What you say makes a difference in your life and in the lives of others. Consider your words today.
