When you believe and receive Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to live in you. Then, you can really live the Christian life. The Holy Spirit makes the difference. He enables you to live a new life, pleasing to God.
Christ lives in you as a believer through the Holy Spirit. Left to yourself, you could not live the Christian life. God knows that you cannot live the Christian life in the flesh, your old sinful nature. Will-power and your best efforts are all destined to fail because of the flesh. You are weak in the flesh, that is weak to temptation and sin. The Holy Spirit enables you to walk with God in victory over your weakness.
Have you tried to live the Christian life through your own efforts and will-power, only to fall short again and again? Defeat is certain and failure is sure. God never intended you to live the Christian life in the weakness of your flesh.
God offers to empower you to live for Christ, through the Holy Spirit. He is able to do far exceedingly more in you than you could ask or think, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Born of the Spirit, you continue to yield to the Spirit who helps you overcome your weakness.
