Even with fame and fortune, without love, life becomes nothing. God made you for relationships in the bond of love. He wants you to be bonded together with Him through the gift of love. He ordained marriage and the family to express the bond of love. He wants you to love everyone. In essence, the real purpose of life is to love and be loved. When life becomes nothing, it's because you have missed the purpose of love.
God made you to be a subject of His love. He wants you to love Him. Simply stated, that's your real purpose in life. He wants you to experience His love in your heart. Only the Spirit of God can make the love of God real to your heart. Faith in Christ connects you to the love of God.
Loving God leads you to love others. God desires to show His love for others through you. He is able to change the lives of others through you. Love changes lives, because God is love. Yielding your life to God is yielding your life to love divine. As a result, you love God and others. That's your real purpose in life.
"Beloved, let us love one another,
for love is of God;
and everyone who loves is born of God
and knows God.
He who does not love
does not know God,
for God is love."
