Many people would like to change their lives. Maybe you would like to change yours. How can you change your life? Some try will power, but it usually comes short. Others try cosmetic changes, but the real change must come on the inside. Many give up in frustration, convinced that real change is not possible.
Only the power of God can change your life. The power of God is love. God changes you from the inside. His love changes your heart. The Spirit of God alone can make love real to your heart. "For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love" (Romans 5:5, NLT). To know God is to know real love, because "God is love" (1 John 4:8).
You may ask, how can God's love change my life? God made you, that means you were made by love divine. Your purpose is to love and be loved. When you are loved by God, you find acceptance and purpose for your life. You love others as you love yourself. You have found the goal for your life, to love and be loved.
Look at the practical changes that love makes in your life. "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged" (1 Corinthians 13:4-5, NLT). That's real change. Love can change your life. Love has a name. His name is Jesus. Invite him into your heart.
