"And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in gloryby Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19
A man was sharing his Christian faith with a small group. He concluded by saying, "I have no need that God cannot supply. I can't tell Him how or when to do it, but I know that He will not fail to supply all my need. That doesn't include all my wants, but it does include all my needs." After the meeting, a man came to him saying, "I wish that I had your faith." He smiled and replied, "It's not about my faith. It's about God's faithfulness."
The church at Philippi had sent an offering to the apostle Paul in his time of need. He wrote a "thank you" letter known as Philippians. Paul assured them that God would supply all their need. Note that God often uses other people to supply our need. He works through people when they understand that and often when they don't. He works in His own way and time to supply our need.
In the Old Testament, Abraham knew God by His covenant name of Jehovah-jireh. Often that term is defined with these words: God shall supply. Abraham knew that God would supply His need in unexpected ways at just the right time. God has not changed.

What is the greatest need in your life at this time? Trust God to supply your need. Let God be to you who He really is: Jehovah-jireh. The God of Abraham is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. By faith He is your God. Read Philippians 4:19 out loud. Repeat it to God in prayer. Ask Him to be your Jehovah-jireh. Trust Him to supply your need in His way and His time.
The psalmist David trusted God to supply his need. He wrote, "The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). David's God is the same God who supplies our need "according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

Prayer: Father, You know my need today. I trust You to supply my need in Your way and Your time by Christ Jesus. Amen.
