"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap . . .
yet your heavenly Father feeds them."
yet your heavenly Father feeds them."
Matthew 6:26
More than three feet of snow was on the ground. She was in the kitchen pinching slices of bread into pieces. Her husband said, "What are you doing?" She said, "I need to feed the birds. It's hard for them to find food in all this snow." Her husband replied, "Well, I remember that verse in the Bible that says God feeds the birds, and I believe He is using you today to do His work." She laughed and said, "He's using you too. Will you take it outside?" Of course, he did. Sure, God uses people to work for Him, but there is a lesson for us as well. If God cares for the birds, how much more does He care for us?
Do you have problems that worry you today? No one has a problem-free life. When problems come our way, then we have a choice. We can worry about them in our helpless feelings, or we can remember that we have a heavenly Father who cares for us. He cares about all of our needs, even what we eat. Jesus taught us to pray, "Give us this day our daily bread." Turn your worries into prayers. Trust your heavenly Father to help you with all of your needs.
"Said the robin to the sparrow,
I should really like to know,
Why these anxious human beings
Rush about and worry so.
Said the sparrow to the robin,
Friend, I think it must be,
That they have no heavenly Father
Such as cares for you and me."
Prayer: Father, we give You our worries and trust in Your goodness as our heavenly Father to help us with all of our problems and needs, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
