You Are God's Creation

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

Psalm 139:14

A medical doctor shared his personal testimony of faith with me. As a medical student, he was an atheist. The more he studied the human body, the more he considered the possibility of a Creator. Finally, he came to a point where he believed that God had to be credited for making man. It made sense to him when he considered the intricate design and function of the human body.

He played tennis with a man who was a minister. The medical student began to ask him serious questions about God and the Bible. Not long after that, he made a faith commitment to Jesus Christ. It all started when he realized that he was "fearfully and wonderfully made."

When we consider God as the Creator of heaven and earth, as well as the human body, it leads us to praise Him for His great works. More than that, God has a new creation, when He changes our lives through Christ. It's referred to as the new creation. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Jesus referred to it as the new birth. Like the creation of the man and the universe, it is a work that only God can do. "We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:10). It is a work of God's grace for His glory, through faith in Christ.

We are humbled to know that all we are and ever hope to be is by God's grace alone. It brings us to a point of worship and praise. We could never repay God for being our all and all, but we can praise Him now and forever. We were made to bring glory to God. We participate in giving Him glory through worship and praise. The psalmist praised the Lord, as he realized that he was "fearfully and wonderfully made."

God, You have made us. We worship You as our Creator.
