"For a man's ways are in full view of the LORD,
and he examines all of his paths."
Proverbs 5:21
Banks have video recorders to view all who come and go for business. The robber can be assured, even if he gets away with the stolen money, someone is watching. His description becomes public information. His path in and out of the bank is fully examined. So, the LORD has full view of our lives. Nothing is hidden before his eyes.
To know that the LORD is constantly watching us could be a very uncomfortable thought. Since the Bible makes it clear that we have all sinned (Romans 3:10, 3:23), we should remember that our sins are never committed in privacy. Someone is watching. His judgment is true and just, for he never needs to call witnesses. He is the witness to all that we do and say. That should make it much easier for all of us to receive a Savior in Christ who forgives all of our sins.
Someone is watching you, because he loves you. He wants to help you in every situation of life, through every trial and temptation. Like a father lovingly watches over his children, so our heavenly Father watches over us. He sees our tears, hears our prayers and knows when we need his help. "So we can say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:6).
God, watch over us and keep us.
