"Being confident of this very thing,
that He which hath begun a good work in you
will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6
A minister shared a message with his congregation entitled, "How God Works In Us." A member of the church said to him after the service, "I have always thought much about working for God, but I've not thought much about Him working in me." Maybe there are many believers in that same condition.
The Bible teaches that God is working in every believer. "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13). And when God begins a good work in us, He brings it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
God works in the believer through the Holy Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit who convinced us of our need to receive Christ as Savior and Lord (John 16:7-11). The Holy Spirit sealed the believer when we trusted in Christ (Ephesians 1:13). The Holy Spirit works the gifts of faith, hope and love, within every believer (1 Cor. 13:13). The Holy Spirit works fruit in the believer's life such as love, joy and peace (Galatians 5:22-23).
The Holy Spirit works love in our hearts for God and others. He gives us hope for life everlasting. He works abiding faith within us. The Spirit of God gives us joy in fellowship with the Lord. He gives us peace when we walk in the will of God. How is God working in you?
God, work in us to the praise of Your glory.
