"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous,
and His ears are open unto their prayers."
1 Peter 3:12
A chief executive officer had a list of important phone calls that needed his immediate attention. Among the names on the list was his son's name. The first call he made was not a business call. It was a return call to his son. Although the man was a CEO of a major corporation, he was also a father. He had his priorities right. His son came first. God is the believer's heavenly Father. Our calls to Him in prayer receive top priority.
The prayers of the righteous have God's open ear to hear and respond. The righteous are not the self-righteous. To be righteous before God is to be in relationship with God as our Father. By faith we receive the righteousness of God as a gift. "The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:17).
To be righteous before God means that we are in fellowship with God. "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). Our righteousness is in Christ alone.
Do you have faith in God and His Son Jesus Christ? Are you in fellowship with God? If so, you can expect God to hear and answer your prayers, because of a faith relationship in fellowship with Him. You have God's ear. He will hear you at any time. You can know the joy of a real prayer life. More than repetition of words, your prayer life is real, because you have a real relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Father, hear our prayers in Jesus name.
