Be Content

Could you really say that you are content in your life? Learning to be content is one of the great lessons of life. Perhaps, you think that you could be content if you had more income or a better job. Maybe, you think that you could be content if you were not living in your current circumstances. What would it take to make you content?

Being content in life comes through a significant relationship with another person. For some people they would immediately think of friends or spouse. Yet, those relationships can change quickly. Also, that means being content is always dependent upon other people. Neither your friends nor your spouse can make you content.

Being content in life is dependent upon your relationship with God. He is the only one who can promise, "I will never leave you." A faith relationship with God is more important than all the wealth you may accumulate. Wealth can be lost quickly. Faith in God through his Son Jesus provides a relationship with the one who promises, "I will never forsake you."

"Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5, ESV).
