Grieving at Christmas

We usually think of Christmas as an exciting time of the year, with parties and family gatherings. So it is for most people. Yet, it can be a sad time for those who are grieving the death of a loved one. Their lives are no longer the same. With sadness, they know that it will never be the same again.

If you know someone who may be grieving during the Christmas season, remember that person with your prayers and acts of kindness. Just a phone call could show personal concern. A visit or personal invitation to attend a social event could make a difference.

If you grieve the death of a loved one at this season, remember God cares. He loves you. He knows your feelings of grief. The Spirit of God is with you to bring comfort and peace. God welcomes your prayers to pour out your heart to Him. Don't waste your grief. Use it to show concern and help for others who grieve. You understand what they feel.

"Comfort, comfort my people,
says your God."

Isaiah 40:1
