Hope guarantees your future. Without hope, your plans for the future are as nothing. Without hope, depression moves into your thoughts. Life without hope is like an automobile without gasoline. It sits idle. It may look good, but it cannot fulfill its purpose. So it is without hope in life, it robs you of purpose and meaning.
Where can you find genuine hope for the future? Some look for hope in all the wrong places. True hope comes only from God, and it must be found in your heart. God gives hope that is trustworthy and sure. Hope does not trust in human achievement, nor uncertain riches. Hope will trust in the living God, who rules over all. "Now hope does not disappoint" (Romans 5:5).
Hope in God finds God as the source of all hope. He puts hope in our hearts. It comes always and only as a gift. God has a purpose and a future for you. His hope in your heart bears witness to your future. All who have genuine faith in God and His Son, discover hope that is steadfast and sure. It is "a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3).
Hope never works in your heart alone. Where you find hope, you are sure to find faith. Where you find faith and hope, you will always find the greatest gift of all, and that is love. God's love gives all believers hope. Love is the basis of hope. You have hope for the future, because God loves you. Love wants the best for you. Hope is guaranteed, because love never fails. And, love never fails, because "God is love" (1 John 4:8).
