Worry Is a Choice

Think about worry as a choice. If then worry is a choice, what is the other option? Choose God. There is no worry in God. Trusting God puts pressure on worry to leave immediately. Your mind can only focus upon one subject at a time. God is the greatest thought you could ever have, because God is great. "For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever" (Romans 11:36).

Worry often comes from situations beyond your control. However, no situation is beyond God's control, because God is sovereign. He sees all, knows all, and rules over all. You will find yourself in no situation beyond God's control. Ask for God's help. He is a present help to those in need. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1).

Worry works closely with fear. You may worry about bad things that could happen. That's the opposite of faith. To the contrary, faith is willing to trust God to reveal His goodness. God is always working things together for good to those who love Him, "who works all things according to the counsel of His will" (Ephesians 1:11).

When worry pushes into your mind, it always wants to bring its friends, such as depression, anxiety, frustration, and fear. Their time is over, when you choose to meditate on God's Word, considering His goodness, mercy, grace, and love. Worry no more, when your thoughts are focused upon God.
