"Lord have mercy" is a prayer God answers, because God is merciful. God wants you to trust His mercy. Remember, God's mercy endures forever. "Let those who fear the Lord now say, 'His mercy endures forever" (Psalm 118:4).
All that you have is in the hand of God's enduring mercy. God's mercy is for those who fear Him. That does not mean that you are frightened by God. It does mean that you hold Him in awe, with utmost reverence and respect. He is God, beside whom there is no other.
