The Gift of Faith

The key to a personal relationship with God is faith. You cannot see God. You must come to Him by faith. Faith is "the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Walking with God is living by faith.

How can we have real faith in God? God not only requires faith, but He also provides faith. God does not believe for us, but He enables us to believe. It's all of grace, and the word grace means gift. Our relationship with God is by grace through faith.

God gives the measure of faith to each one as needed. We receive that faith through the Spirit of God, through the word of God. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).

Faith comes as a gift from God. It is focused upon God in Christ. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2). God is more than able to give us the faith to do His will. "God has dealt to each one the measure of faith" (Romans 12:3).

Faith from God is trusting in God. Therefore, we give Him all the glory. Having faith in God is not about trying harder. You may be trying too hard. Rest in God. It's about God working in you. Have faith in God. But first, receive faith from God.
