When Fear Attacks

To be fearless is not an impossible goal. It is not merely positive thinking. Being fearless is more than a naive thought. To be fearless is a personal relationship with God. Faith in God recognizes that God watches over us to keep us. Being fearless means that we know God is with us always and everywhere. It accepts this truth. Nothing happens to us unless God allows it or ordains it. He gives us grace for every situation.

Moses was a Bible character, fearless because of his faith in God. "By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible" (Hebrews 11:27). He fulfilled his destiny, because he was fearless.

When fear attacks the believer, the real problem is not fear. Identify the core issue. It's a lack of faith in the sovereignty of God. Our God rules over all. Yes, our God rules in the affairs of men. When your faith gets hold of this, you become fearless. "That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men" (Daniel 4:17).

The fearless believer understands that our God reigns! "For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever" (Romans 11:36). Nothing comes your way, unless God allows it. He rules over all. Fearless believers know who God is.
