Where Faith Stands

Faith never stands upon the shifting sand of public opinion. Faith cannot depend upon the ideas of other people. Faith is not even based upon the latest scientific theories or discoveries. While we are all grateful for the advancement of science, it is only based upon what we can see and test in the natural world. Faith however is based upon what is revealed only by God, "that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God" (1 Corinthians 2:5).

Revelation knowledge from God is found in your Bible. Written by prophets and apostles, as well as others inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Bible reveals who God is and how He works in our lives. As we read the Bible, the same Holy Spirit who inspired the authors is the same Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth. Faith stands upon the truth of the Bible. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).

Pray the Word: Father, as I read the Bible, may the Holy Spirit guide me into Your truth. Lead me in the truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Do the Word: As you read your Bible, pray that the Holy Spirit will give you wisdom and understanding, that you may know the truth in Christ.
