Fullness of Joy

Can you say that you have the joy of life? What about your relationship with God? The two are connected. Joy is the result of a personal relationship with God. Knowing God brings purpose and fulfillment into your life. Joy is knowing that your life is not wasted.

Joy in life doesn't mean that you will not be tried and tested. It doesn't mean that you will not face problems and difficulties. It does mean that you will have assurance that God is with you, and He is for you. The joy of life means God is working in you. Joy is knowing that God loves you. Joy is God's presence. Joy is peace with God. You can say to God, "In Your presence is fullness of joy" (Psalm 16:11).

The joy of life doesn't mean you will never fail God and go astray. When you do, God has mercy to forgive you, as you confess your sins. Joy is knowing your sins are forgiven. "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered" (Psalm 32:1).

The joy of life is knowing God's help with all your needs. At God's throne of grace, there is always help for you. Real joy is knowing God as your Helper. You can confidently say, "The LORD is my helper" (Hebrews 13:6).
