To Be Accepted

You want to be accepted. That's a common need for all of us. There is no one else in this world just like you. While you may be like someone else in a certain way, yet you are a unique creation of God. He made you. Accept yourself for who God made you. Don't try to be someone else. "It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves" (Psalm 100:3).

God accepts you as someone who is not perfect, and you never will be in this life. Admit that you have failed God in different ways. The Bible calls it sin. Accept the thought that you can never earn your way to God's favor. His favor is called grace, and it's always a gift, never to be earned. Say to yourself, "But by the grace of God I am what I am" (1 Corinthians 15:10).

God accepts you, because He loves you. His love for you is personal. God's love for you is reality seen at the cross of Jesus. He died for your sins. His sacrifice takes away all your sins. His resurrection gives you life abundant and everlasting. God accepts you, because by faith in Christ you are His child forever.

God accepts you when others reject you. Admit to yourself that you cannot please everyone. You are called to please God, and you can only do that by faith in His Son. Some people may reject you, but God accepts you in Christ. "He made us accepted in the Beloved" (Ephesians 1:6).
