Life is love. God loves you and He wants you to love Him. A personal relationship with God is all about love. Remember the greatest commandment of all. Jesus tells us, "And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength" (Mark 12:30, NLT).
Loving God is our response to His great love for us. He gave His Son as eternal proof for His love for sinners. That would be all of us. Christ crucified is love so amazing. "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son ..." (John 3:16).
At conversion, the love of God fills our hearts through the Holy Spirit. We experience the love of God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit works in our hearts that we may know the love of God in a personal way. "For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love" (Romans 5:5, NLT).
We love God through worship and by obeying His commandments. That translates into worship which adores and submits to God's great love for us. Likewise, we surrender to His good will for us and desire to please Him in the way we live. More than that, we love others because we love Him. Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31, NLT). That's because life is love.
