When Depression Comes

How do you respond when depression comes your way? Depression comes to most people sooner or later. Often depression comes to stay. It is an intruder who is never welcome. However, depression likes to force himself on people. Depression wants to take over the mind and emotions. So many resign to depression, seeing no way out.

There is something you can do about depression. "Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness"(Isaiah 61:3). Praise God out of your depression. Join with others who desire to praise the Lord. Depression brings heaviness, but praise brings God's manifest presence. Praising God is the antidote to depression. In the words of a chorus, "It's amazing what praising can do."

Praise God in all situations and circumstances. He is worthy of all praise. Praise God when you walk on the mountain and in the valley, for God changes not. Praise God when you understand and when you don't. Praise God today and everyday. Praise God when you feel like it, but especially praise God when you don't feel like it.

When depression comes, praise God anyway. Praise breaks the power of heaviness on your mind and heart. Praise brings God into every situation of your life. God responds to the praise of all His people. He will respond to you, as you praise Him.
